Les Annees Cite de Londres Vol. 2

Les Annees Cite de Londres Vol. 2

February 14, 2010 |  by schraep  |  ,  |  No Comments

This is volume 2 and follow-up of my soulful deep house mixtape serie in memory to the very special part of my life spent in Paris 2000/2001, and under heavy Naked Music Recordings sound influence. See Les Années Cité de Londres Vol. 1 for the first session.

But apart of being a dedication to all the concerned friends around la rue Cite de Londres, this mixtape is also a special birthday present for a close pal: Josh. So happy birthday mate, I hope these tracks will bring up some more nice memories of the time spent together in Paris.

Those of you who are less passionate by electronic music, stay tuned, the next mixtape will explore other directions.

Tracks by Weekender, Bougie Soliterre, Jon Cutler, Herbert, Aqua Bassino, Lisa Shaw, Naked Music, Miguel Migs, Crazy Penis, Charles Websters.

This is the live recording (6 hours of music) of a wedding party (Rosalie’s and Felix’s) where I’ve been deejaying september 19th. It’s a real mash-up of all kinds of different music styles from disco to electro (even including german carnival music). The people had fun though and the party went on till 7 AM.

I’ve been asked to post this one with the tracklisting, so here you go:

This is the third installement of the “Memories” mix serie, done as a tribute to past music-tainted moments.

Agate

Agate

January 19, 2009 |  by schraep  |  1 Comment

This is a new volume of my DJ mix serie named after precious stones. This time I felt more like mixing together Minimal and Techno tracks. The result became a deep uptempo techno mix, suited for after hour moments. Panorama Bar/Techno fans will enjoy this one, the others should probably avoid it: don’t bother listening if you’re not into Techno.

And for the interested, according to Wikipedia Agate (pronounced ['ægət]) is a microcrystalline variety of quartz (silica), chiefly chalcedony, characterised by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. The stone was given its name by Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher and naturalist, who discovered the stone along the shore line of the river Achates (Greek: Αχάτης) sometime between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.

Tracklisting:

  1. Intro: The Jimi Hendrix Experience – … And The Gods Made Love
  2. Minilogue Vs KAB – That’s A Nice Way to Give Me Feedback (Wighnomy  Brothers Quintenzirkel Remix)
  3. Christian Burkhardt – Phey Boom
  4. Johnny D – Walkman
  5. Gaiser Vs Heartthrob – Nasty Girl
  6. Robag Wruhme – Skrubbs
  7. Luciano – Nin
  8. Solomun & Stimming – Feuervogel
  9. Radio Slave – Rj
  10. Pan-Pot – Black Fusion
  11. Luca Bacchetti – What Ever
  12. Plasmik – DJ Banana (Antilope Remix)
  13. Frivolous – Sooo Savey
  14. Minilogue – Elephant’s Parade

Another Mix I did in memory to a past music-tainted period of my life. I’ve gathered, as far as I could remember, disco tracks & songs we, a group of friends, used to hear and dance to. That was quite a while ago,  in the mid to end of the nineties. All the props for the musical influence go to Mr. Peter Z. aka House Peter aka Laramblas… Thank you mate.

I hope this mix will also bring up some nice memories to those concerned, and be some enjoyable musical distraction to the others.

Topaz is a fluorine aluminium silicate and comes in yellow, yellow-brown, honey-yellow, flax, brown, green, blue, light blue, red and pink … and sometimes it has no colour at all. The topaz. The topaz has been known for at least 2000 years and is one of the gemstones which form the foundations of the twelve gates to the Holy City of the New Jerusalem. Ivan Smagghe & Tim Paris present “Choose you way” (Kill The DJ Podcast)

January 7, 2008 |  by schraep  |  , , ,  |  5 Comments

Courtesy of Kill The DJ/Family Recordings, we have this time a very special mix from Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris. It’s a very ecclectic mixture of forgotten Rock, Jazz, Downtempo, Easy Listening, mixed up with some obscure Kraut Rock and ambient electronic sounds that seem to be actually some recorded extra-terrestrial activity.

I should get the tracklist soon, but meanwhile enjoy and don’t forget to check out the killdj website www.killthedj.com.
