Les Annees Cite de Londres Vol. 2

Les Annees Cite de Londres Vol. 2

February 14, 2010 |  by schraep  |  ,  |  No Comments

This is volume 2 and follow-up of my soulful deep house mixtape serie in memory to the very special part of my life spent in Paris 2000/2001, and under heavy Naked Music Recordings sound influence. See Les Années Cité de Londres Vol. 1 for the first session.

But apart of being a dedication to all the concerned friends around la rue Cite de Londres, this mixtape is also a special birthday present for a close pal: Josh. So happy birthday mate, I hope these tracks will bring up some more nice memories of the time spent together in Paris.

Those of you who are less passionate by electronic music, stay tuned, the next mixtape will explore other directions.

Tracks by Weekender, Bougie Soliterre, Jon Cutler, Herbert, Aqua Bassino, Lisa Shaw, Naked Music, Miguel Migs, Crazy Penis, Charles Websters.

This is the third installement of the “Memories” mix serie, done as a tribute to past music-tainted moments.

Topaz

December 1, 2008 |  by schraep  |   |  2 Comments

Topaz is a fluorine aluminium silicate and comes in yellow, yellow-brown, honey-yellow, flax, brown, green, blue, light blue, red and pink … and sometimes it has no colour at all. The topaz. The topaz has been known for at least 2000 years and is one of the gemstones which form the foundations of the twelve gates to the Holy City of the New Jerusalem. These so-called apocalyptic stones are intended to serve in protection against enemies and as a symbol of beauty and splendour.

Topaz is also the name of the second volume of the Deep House mix serie I started in 2007 and containing current charts. Enjoy!

Amethyst

Amethyst

February 24, 2007 |  by schraep  |  ,  |  2 Comments

Amethyst (SiO2) is a violet or purple variety of quartz often used as an ornament. The name comes from the Greek a (“not”) and methuskein (“to intoxicate”), a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness; the ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication.

Amethyst is also the name of my latest mix, with my current charts. The first volume of a mix serie i am about to put on this website. So stay tuned and enjoy!

Innercity Years 2004-2005

Innercity Years 2004-2005

February 15, 2007 |  by schraep  |  , , , ,  |  1 Comment

2-3 years ago, Steffen “Dixon” Berkhahn started the Innercity clubnights at WEEK12END Berlin, bringing back to Techno/Electro/Minimal Berlin much needed Deep House sounds. It fastly became one of the most-talked about parties in the German capital with a very special type of music, an own style, that was and still is a major inspiration to many music lovers, and in particular to me.

So…. Having been spoiled for so long by this great music, having harrassed Dixon so often for the track titles…, I finally grouped the IMHO most remarkable tracks of the 2004-2005 years (at least some of them) in one mix together. I hope you will enjoy it and above all, get a little impression of the “innervision music style”. And if you like this type of music, and if you’ve never been to an Innercity night at WEEK12END in Berlin, then you sincerely shouldn’t wait any longer.
